Alfred L.
Vance
Jun 4, 1938 — Mar 15, 2025
Hawk Point
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alfred Lindell Vance, beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend to many. Alfred peacefully left this mortal world on March 15, 2025 at the age of 86, surrounded by his family that loved him so very much. Alfred was born on June 4, 1938, in Eminence, MO to Alfred Elmer and Effie (Schwighauser) Vance. He grew up and went to school in the serene countryside of Eminence where he created lasting memories with the blessing of eight siblings.
Alfred shared 50 beautiful years of devotion with his wife Joyce, and together they built a wonderful union filled with love, adventure, and faith. A proud father, Alfred found joy in being the guiding light to his two children, Jeffery (Trina) Vance of Fredericktown, and his daughter, Susan Bommarito of Hawk Point. Alfred instilled values and purpose with his children, always encouraging them to work hard, pursue their dreams, and remain grounded in their beliefs. Affectionately known as "Papa," Alfred was a grandfather and great-grandfather to fifteen.
He loved sharing stories of the old times, teaching new skills, and most importantly, helping them grow in their relationship with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Alfred was known for his strength and virtue, and his character will continue to inspire all who knew him. Alfred never missed a day of work in his life, and even in retirement, he would labor tirelessly in his yard and garden. In his free time, he loved fishing, nature, and visiting new places with Joyce.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife Joyce: his children Jeffery (Trina) and Susan, his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel), Cody, Christopher (Loren),Taylor (Charlie), Macee, Craig, Mason, Angelina, Kaedyn, Fiona, Waylon, Brynlee, Addilyn, Daniel, Nevina and Laura. Sisters Carol (Elmer) of Lake St. Louis, Louise Welch of Mansfield, and a tapestry of countless relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory in their hearts.
Alfred is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Effie, sisters Dorothy and Margaret, and brothers Frank, John, Denver, and Hayes.
While he is no longer with us, Alfred Vance's smile, warmth, and gentle spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
