Mrs. Betty Jo Harke,84, of Troy, MO, passed away on November 29, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her big, loving family. She was born on January 12, 1937 in Troy, MO to Melvin and Thelma (Harrell) Starkey. Betty attended the local schools with her brother, Edward, and graduated from Buchanan High School. She and David Harke met and later married on September 15, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. To this union were born five children:  Karla, Darrell, Lisa, Donna and Luke.  Betty was an excellent wife and mother. She operated Harke's Shoppe, selling clothes and sports apparel for many years.  David and Betty were able to travel together and their last trip was an Alaskan Cruise. Betty enjoyed crocheting, watching sports and spending time at Mark Twain Lake with family and friends. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal's sports fan and would cheer them on. Betty always had a beautiful smile on her face and was impeccably dressed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend. She will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her loving family, her children:  Karla (Henry Clay) Creech, Darrell (Mary) Harke, Lisa (Bruce) Westermann, Donna (Raymond) Wilga, Luke (Suzette) Harke; her grandchildren, Kristy, Nathan, Justin, Danielle, Kurt, Jacob, Kayla, Kyle, Brett, Kourtney, Dustin, Hannah and Hope; her 11 great-grandchildren;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David, and her  brother, Edward.

Visitation will be held on Wed. December 1, 2021  from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379, (636) 528-8244.

Mass- Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, MO 63379 Father Mike Lydon to officiate. Pallbearers: Kyle Westermann, Brett Wilga, Nathan Creech, Justin Creech, Kohen Saxe, Kurt Harke, Jacob Harke and Dustin Pollard.

Interment- Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Troy, MO.
