Bonnie Sue Thornburg,79, of Troy, MO, passed away at SSM- Lake St. Louis Hospital on January 6, 2022.She was born on June 1, 1942 in Scottsburg, Indiana to Blackburn and Cora (Clay) Howard. She attended the local schools along with her siblings and graduated from Carthage High School in Indiana. After high school, Bonnie studied at Elkhart University and became a Medical Laboratory /X-ray Technician in 1963. On June 22, 1965 Bonnie and Jack Thornburg were united in marriage. To this union was born one son; Ryan. Bonnie worked for several years for the Mercy Health System in different positions and she retired in 2004 as a medical transcriptionist after many years of dedicated service.  She enjoyed cooking , flower gardening, cross stitching and reading . Bonnie loved her cats and took excellent care of them. She was an avid reader who enjoyed such authors as Robert Fulghum and Robert Service. Bonnie was an avid St.Louis Cardinals Fan and enjoyed watching the games. The family was very close and Bonnie was always happy to see her grandchildren, son and daughter-in law come in the door. Many nights were spent around the dinner table , laughing and telling stories. She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jack Thornburg of Troy, one son, Ryan and his wife Carla Thornburg of Troy, two beloved grandchildren, Luke and Brooke Thornburg, siblings, Jack (Linda) Howard of Carthage, Indiana and Christine Owens of Greenfield, Indiana, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
