Mrs. Carlagene Godwin,90,of Troy, MO, passed away on June 19, 2024 at Mercy Hospital-Lincoln. She was born on October 14, 1933 in Petersburg, IL to Thomas and Lorraine (Andreas) Smith. The Smith family lived in St. Louis, Mo and Carlagene graduated from Fairview High School. On May 31, 1952, Carlagene was united in marriage with Thomas Godwin in St. Louis and to this union were born four children: Mark, Kieth, Chris and Kelly. The Godwin family moved to Troy in 1974 where they enjoyed taking care of their yard and raising cattle. Carlagene enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking and spending time outdoors. She loved her family very much and enjoyed every minute spent with them. Her family describes her as ,"outgoing, very energetic, loving, caring and kind."  She will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Carlagene is survived by her three children, Kieth Godwin of St. Louis, Chris Godwin of Troy, MO and Kelly (Robert) Pfeiffer of Troy, MO, grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Godwin, Jonathan (Shannon) Godwin, Candice (Andy) Mikes, Trent (Danielle) Pfeiffer and Brooke ( fiancé Andrew Hiner) Pfeiffer, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Smith Jr., many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Godwin, her son, Mark Godwin, her parents, and four siblings; Charlie, Billy, Darlene , Donald and her daughter-in-law, Vicky Godwin.

Visitation will be held on Wed. June 26, 2024 from 4:00  p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244.

Funeral will also be held on Wed. June 26, 2024 at  6:00  p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory- Troy. Inurnment-  Friday , June 28, 2024, Old Alexandria Cemetery Troy, MO.
