Gene Lilley,91, of Troy, MO, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on January 27, 2026. He was born on January 24, 1935 in Foley, MO to Charles and Hazel ( Irving) Lilley. He attended the local schools, along with his sister, Judith. Gene Lilley  and Norma Jean ( Cannon) were united in marriage on June 29, 1956. To this union were born; Donnie, Dale, Clint, Susan and Jennifer. Gene was a farmer and worked from sunup to sundown. He also was a foreman for the Lincoln County Highway Dept. and worked for the Conservation Dept over the years. Gene enjoyed the simple things in life, watching the squirrels and ducks, gardening and visiting with his animals. He loved to spend time with his extended family, his wife, his children and in later years, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great- great-grandchildren. The family's favorite times were spent out at the farm. Gene will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Donnie and wife Vita Lilley of Troy, Dale and wife Rhonda Lilley of Troy, Clint and wife Tanja Lilley of Centralia, Il., Susan Lilley and husband Joe Balling of Foley and Jennifer and husband Joe Bergjans of Troy, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other family and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife,  Norma Jean Lilley, his parents, Charles and Hazel Lilley and his sister, Judith Schafer, and two grandsons: Brad Lilley, and Nick Adkins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 1 p.m.- 2p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379

Memorial Service- will also be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379
