Mrs. Charlotte May Nelson, 81, of Troy, MO, passed away on December 31, 2021 at her residence.  She was born in St. Charles on Sept. 1, 1940 to Bernard and Wilma Jean (Campbell) Lewis.  Charlotte attended the local schools along with her younger siblings: Michael, Lee and Mary.  At the age of 16, she married her sweetheart, Emmett Nelson on June 21, 1957 in St.Charles.  To this union were born three children: Brett, Emmett Jr. and Michelle.  The family relocated to Chicago in 1967 because of Charlotte's husband's work.  In 1983, the couple moved back to St. Charles to help take care of her mother-in-law.  Some of Charlotte's hobbies included:  doing ceramics, playing Bingo, scratch offs and the lottery.  She was a very lucky person and many times did win.  Her family said, "She was the best cook in the whole-wide world and always gave 100%."

Surviving are her loving husband: Emmett Nelson; her children: Brett Nelson, Emmett (Rosa) Nelson Jr., Michelle (Kevin) Schoeninger; her grandchildren: Blake Schoeninger,  Tony Nelson, Jamie Nelson, Blake,  Kevin Michael Schoeninger and Wyatt Nelson; her great-grandchildren: Emmett, Isabella, Leland, Kolton and Kora, and other relatives and friends.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Lee Lewis and twins:  Mary Korte, and Michael Lewis
