Claire L. Strunk, 64, of Troy, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Wed., May 17, 2023 at SSM Lake St. Louis.  She was born on July 1, 1958 in St. Louis to Grant and Suzanne (Bolhofner) Hurford.  Claire grew up with her three older sisters: Christine, Cindy and Cate.   She met her soulmate, Charles "Terry" Strunk at a dance.  They dated for three years and were then married on Sept. 9, 1988 in St. Charles.  To this union were born four children:  Chad, Alex, Natalie and Seth.  Her husband built a log home for their family in Dardenne Prairie and this is where the family resided.

On June 6, 2005, the family moved to Troy and became members of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.  She became a member of K.C. Ladies Auxillary and helped whenever needed.  Some of her hobbies included walking, exercising and when younger, she loved to go bicycle riding.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her beloved husband of over 34 years, Terry Strunk of Troy; her children:  Chad Strunk, Alex Strunk (Courtney), Natalie Baker (Tim), Seth Strunk (Rachel); seven loving grandchildren: Christopher, Conrad, Calaway, Elijah, Ezreal, Marlowe, Eloise, and one on-the-way.  She is further survived by her three sisters: Christine  (Steve) Corvin, Cindy Ackermann-Bradley (Ken)  and Cate Sawyer; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Darrell Sawyer.

Visitation  scheduled on  Monday, May 22, 2023 from  2:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the McCoy Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy

Funeral service to follow at 6:30 p.m. on  Monday, May 22, 2023  at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy.  Fr. Mike Lydon to officiate.
