Known for his quick wit and elaborate stories, Curtis was a friend to many and never met a stranger.
Curtis Dale Guinn, 72, of Troy passed away peacefully on Fri., Sept. 11, 2026, with dear friends by his side.
Known for his quit wit and elaborate stories, Curtis was a friend to many and never met a stranger. His laughter, catch phrases and joking manner will live on through his network of many friends. He was a volunteer for more than a decade, delivering Meals on Wheels throughout Lincoln County. By using his well-tuned “office skills” to check off the list of delivery locations, he was a key member of his delivery team.
Curtis was a guy who loved life! He was always up for an adventure such as a Cardinal Baseball game, The Muny or a week at Wonderland Camp. While he enjoyed big events, he also liked the simple things in life as well such as people watching, bowling, a long drive to enjoy Missouri’s nature or a side-by-side ride to look at cattle.
Watching a TV show from his early years was a favorite past time as well as completing word search puzzles, writing, and sometimes even painting. Curtis never left the house without paper, a clip board, a pouch of pencils and pens and a word search book or two! Elvis and country music were favorites of his.
His laughter, catch phrases and joking manner will live on through his network of many friends.
Curtis was best known for sharing memories from his youth. These detailed adventures typically ended with his most memorable phrase “we had a ball”.
He was born in St Louis on Feb.18, 1954 to Andrew and Betty (Jarrett) Guinn. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Curtis leaves behind his housemate, John, as well as many friends at Community Opportunities.
A memorial service is planned for Wed., Oct. 14, 2026, at 3pm at McCoy Blossom Funeral Home.
