Danny "Dan" J. Reed, 74, of Troy, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 16, 2022.  He was born on November 3, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Daniel and Mary (Shay) Reed.  Dan had three younger sisters: Dennice, Doraee and Darla.  After graduating from  high school, he attended college and graduated with a degree in physical education.  He had a great personality and was a nurturing and caring teacher to his high school students at Troy Buchanan High.  Dan also was a track and cross county coach and refereed at basketball games. He led his many cross country and track members to State Championships for Buchanan High School.  Athletics were a big part of who he was.  Teaching drivers' ed was another of his jobs.  He was a good provider for his family.  As you can tell, he was always busy, always on the go. He served the Lincoln County R-111 School Board for several elected terms and was an elder at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church on Hwy V. Dan was also in the Optimist Club and served in many leadership positions. After retiring, he became an entrepreneur and served his community with his lawn care   (Marathon Lawn Service).  Dan cherished each and everyone of his family members and will be greatly missed by this community.

Surviving are his loving family members:  his three children and their spouses: Jeff (Jessica) Reed of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Julie (Darren) Francis of Lawton, OK, Brett (Jamie) Reed of Hillsboro; his five adoring grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one-on-the-way.  He is further survived by his three siblings: Dennice (Dennis) Lovercamp, Doraee Reed, Darla (Mike) Cardenas; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
