Darren Leonard Chumbler, 59, of Winfield, MO, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 in Troy, Missouri.  He was born on February 13, 1965 in Kirkwood,  MIssouri to Gene J. and Dona L. (Grossgloss) Chumbler.    Darren attended school at Northwest School District and graduated in 1984.  He enjoyed playing football, wrestling, lifting weights and playing slow pitch softball.

Darren worked as an iron worker with Local No. 396 for many years off and on.  He was also employed with Davey Tree, was a farm hand and carpenter's assist.  Darren was a volunteer firefighter, starting as a young man with High Ridge Fire Protection District and later with Winfield/Foley Fire Protection District.

He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting or hiking.  Darren also enjoyed listening to and mimicking the sounds of nature such as turkey, owl, coyotes, ducks and frogs.  He and Diane liked to horseback ride and take scenic car rides on the weekends.  .

Darren leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Diane Fair-Chumbler; father, Gene Chumbler; brother, Randy Chumbler; sister, Genise Sanders; and half-sister, Dawn Pollock, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He is greatly missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Cuiver River State Park, Lake Shelter, on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.  A firefighters "last call" service will be held at 4:30 p.m.

In honor of Darren, please wear comfortable clothing, including camouflage and hunting hats.  There are multiple picnic tables to sit at but you may bring your lawn chairs also.
