Obituary

Daryl Favignano Sr., 81, of Troy, MO, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at SSM Hospital at Lake St. Louis. He was born on July 7, 1940 in St. Louis to Manuel and Cleola (Carter) Favignano. When Daryl was young, the family lived in Wellston and in the early 60's moved to Black Jack.
After graduating from high school, he began working for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis. During this time, he also joined the Army National Guard and served for over 39 years. At the age of 27, he married his sweetheart, Doris McMenamy, on June 8, 1968 at Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack. Daryl and Doris were blessed with a son, Daryl Jr., who was their pride and joy. Daryl retired in 2015 from Boeing after many years of dedicated service. That same year, the family relocated to Lincoln County to enjoy country living. They became members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy and were active as long as their health permitted. Working with model trains and watching the St. Louis Cardinals were some of his hobbies. After Daryl Sr. retired, the couple continued their travels with their family.
Surviving are his loving family: his son, Daryl and wife Shelley Favignano Jr; his two grandchildren: Connor and Cara Favignano; his brother, Topper and wife Diane Favignano of Foley; other relatives and friends.

Daryl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Favignano on May 20, 2018; his sister, Geraldine and husband Don Passante.
