David W. Montgomery, 64, of Clarksville, MO, passed unexpectedly away on June 27, 2024 at his home.  He was born on March 31, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to Virgil and Dorothy (Hayden) Simmons. Dave attended the local schools along with his siblings and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School. He was united in marriage with Pat Denem and to this union were born two girls, Stephanie and Caroline.  David later met Janice Patchin, who became his life partner, until she passed away. David was a  taxidermist and later worked as a carpenter/painter. David enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing and watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He always wanted to spend time with his friends and family. Dave was described by his family as, " Stubborn, independent, hard working, private, kind and  had a good sense of humor." He enjoyed barbecuing, but he wasn't good at it, nobody wanted to tell him and they still ate it.  He will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his children, Matt Patchin of St. Peters, MO, Stephanie and Michael Maichin of Troy, MO, Becca and husband Brian Strubel of Maryland Heights, MO and Caroline Montgomery of Wentzville, MO; grandchildren:  Brendan, Abigail, Tyler, Sean, Hannah, Vance, Cam and Tobias; siblings, Eddy Simmons, Johnny Simmons and Danny Simmons, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his life partner, Janice Patchin and mother of his girls, Pat Denem.

Visitation will be held on Wed. July 10, 2024 from 4 p.m- 7 p.m at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379 (1636) 528-8244.
