Troy
Deborah "Debbie" E. Hulion, 70, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at her residence. She was the oldest child of four born to Frank and Ethel (Bailey) Wheatley. Debbie grew up mostly in Virginia. Her father served in the U.S. Navy and so the family did move to several states, including Florida. However, she did meet her soulmate, Roger Hulion in high school. They had many classes in Virginia Beach, Virginia and were married on December 17, 1971 in Camden City, North Carolina.
Her husband, also served in the U.S. Navy and after their marriage, they were stationed in Mississippi, and then moved back to Virginia. They were blessed with two daughters: Amanda and Angie who were their pride and joy. Debbie was a wonderful mother and made all of her daughters' clothes and was a wonderfully good cook, according to her family. She had a "green thumb" and so loved working with her flower gardens. Collecting English China was another of her pastimes. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Debbie is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of over 53 years, Roger Hulion of Troy; her daughters: Amanda Hulion, Angie Hulion; her son-in-law, Mike Corbin; her grandson, Drew Corbin; her siblings: Frank Wheatley, Karen Boone, Phil Wheatley; her sister-in-laws: Peggy Varela, Bobby Etheridge, Nancy Stuckemeyer and her brother-in-laws: Jerry Hulion and Ray Skogstod. She is further survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Committal service to be held at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks, National Cemetery, Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO. Officiating: Brother John Fierge.
