Dolly Vivian (McCann) Weible, age 92, of Troy, MO passed away on March 16th, 2026, in Wentzville, MO. Dolly was born on December 19th, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Walter J. & Edna M. (Peterson) McCann. Dolly was raised in the Pine Lawn neighborhood with her parents and eight siblings. She attended Normandy schools and graduated in 1951. That same year, Dolly was reintroduced to her brothers' neighborhood friend from across the street—a handsome young Marine named Bill who had just returned home from the Korean war. They eventually wed on Feb 28th, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, a marriage that would last for over 71 years.
Dolly & Bill began their family with the birth of their son Bob, in 1956 & their daughter Julie, in 1959. Dolly enrolled at UMSL in 1965 and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1969. Shortly thereafter, they built their home and moved to Troy where she began teaching history at Buchanan High School until retirement in 1986. Once retired, Dolly & Bill spent their time traveling, enjoying their children & grandchildren, summer days by the family pool and never missing one of their ball games. Dolly & Bill spent a lot of time on their favorite hobby, trail-riding on their horses with family and friends in Cuivre River State Park and all-over southern Missouri in the Ozark Mountains. Their travels included trips to Australia & New Zealand, European river cruises, winters in Texas, & traveling in their RV all over North America.
Her dear family includes her loving Husband Bill of 71 years; two children, Robert Weible (Betty) of Troy, Mo. and Julie Brown (Tony) of Wentzville, Mo.; five grandchildren: Jeremy Brown (Jennifer), Justin Brown (Stephanie), Michael Weible (1985-2018), Jennie Johnley (Kenny), and John Weible (1990– 2002); nine great-grandchildren: Lyla Brown, Jacob Brown, Iris Brown, Harper Brown, Julia Brown, Bree Johnley (2015-2019), Olivia Johnley, Jessie Johnley and Allie Johnley; and several nieces and nephews.
