Donald M. Campbell, 86, of Troy, MO, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 27, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Milton and Mary (Reimer) Campbell. Don attended the local schools with his siblings. After his high school graduation , he honorably served his country for three years in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage with Catherine Chiaro on August 13, 1960 in Midlothian, IL. To this union were born two girls, Cheryl and Carolyn.  Don was employed for 40 years as an electrical engineer for AT& T. He was an excellent employee and never missed a day of work. After Catherine passed away, he was united in marriage with JoAnn Alcorn.

He loved to keep in touch with family and friends on facebook, play golf and go bowling. Don was a very devoted Chicago Cubs fan, making sure to give digs to his Cardinal buddies. He liked to collect stamps and do puzzles. Don had a sharp mind and enjoyed dabbling in the stock market. His family describes him as having a dry sense of humor and sometimes sarcastic. He was very meticulous in everything he did. When Cheryl and Jim moved in with him, Don got a new buddy, a cat named Kitters.  Kitters was devoted to Don and he was devoted to him, two peas in a pod. They would spend many hours together sitting in his chair watching T.V. Don enjoyed being a member of the Elks in Troy, making a trek two times a week. He made many good friends there. Don was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Jim) Holloway of Troy, MO, Carolyn Webb of Moscow Mills, MO, Herbert Alcorn of St. Charles, MO and Jane ( Dennis) Strini of DeSoto, MO; grandchildren, Corey Webb and Amanda Diemert , Jeremy (Melanie) Webb, Chad Holloway, Jennifer (Morgan) Holloway; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Maren Webb, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was  preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Campbell, and second wife, Joann Campbell, his beloved grandson, J.D. Holloway, children, Marion Sherman, John Alcorn, his brothers, Richard and David Campbell and his parents .

Visitation to be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from  3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at the McCoy-Bloss om Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244.

A funeral service to be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.,  also at the funeral home in Troy, MO. Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate.  Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Troy, MO. Memorials- may be made to the :American Cancer Society, c/o the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory.
