Donald Eugene Roettger, Sr., passed away on Monday, July 31st, 2023 at the age of 72. Donnie was born on January 20th, 1951. He was a proud, lifelong resident of Troy, Missouri attending Sacred Heart Grade School and Buchanan High School (class of 1969).  He began working for Kroger at the age of sixteen and retired after twenty years of service. Donnie started his own painting business in 1987, retiring in 2013. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He never met a stranger and was known for his always present smile and larger than life laugh.

Donnie is survived by the love of his life, Donna Roettger (nee Elmendorf), his loving children Sheila Feldmann and Donnie Roettger Jr. (Amanda), his much loved grandchildren Jacob and Eli Feldmann and Tessa and Maggie Roettger, his devoted sister Mary Jane Gieson (Wayne) and many family and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Irene Roettger (nee Glosemeyer); his sister, Betty Ann Lynn and his brother,  William (Billy) Roettger.

Visitation - will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379. (636) 528-8244 .  There will also be visitation on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 100 Thompson Drive Troy, MO 63379
