A man who appreciated life's simple pleasures, he found great happiness in the outdoors. Whether gardening, farming, or simply watching the birds and deer, he enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature. Although he could be a little stubborn at times, it was simply part of his unforgettable personality. His laugh, kindness, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sachs of Silex, MO; his children, Shanna (Sean) Mayfield of O'Fallon, MO, Samantha “Sam” Sachs and Kurt Kolb of Wright City, MO, David “D.J.” (Cassandra) Sachs of Wright City, MO, Frank (Kelsey) Savino of Rolla, MO, Brittany (Blake) Phelps of Troy, MO, and Courtney (Justin) Taschler of Wentzville, MO; his sister, Lani Curtis of Winfield, MO; his grandchildren, including Zain Mayfield and Eli Mayfield; along with many other cherished grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
