Obituary

Donald "Don" Wayne Boulware, 71, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at SSM Hospital, Lake St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on February 18, 1955 in Columbia, Missouri to Woodrow and Jalie (Davis) Boulware. Don was raised on a farm in Hatton alongside his brother, Michael. After graduating high school from North Callaway, he then went on to Northeast Missouri State and obtained a bachelor's degree in education with a minor in Journalism. Right after graduation, he began coaching football in Centralia, Missouri. Don then continued to coach across numerous schools throughout the states of Missouri and Kansas over many years. He positively impacted the lives of numerous male and female athletes through his passion for coaching. Later, he attended the University of Kansas and obtained his master's degree in athletic administration. While living in Ottawa, Kansas, he had a chance meeting with his future wife, Anna Selleck, 30 miles away in Lawrence, Kansas at a grocery store. They were married a year later, June 22, 1991. One year later, the couple moved to Iowa where Don worked as a football coach in Lake City. And this is where their three children: Danielle, Alexandra, and Tyler were born. The family relocated to Troy, Missouri 26 years ago.

Some of his hobbies were, of course, both coaching and watching any sport, but especially football and track. During the last few years of his life, Don volunteered as a coach and mentor for student athletes at Troy Buchanan High School. He was a wonderful provider to his family, but also an unforgettable friend and coach to many others. He cherished each one of the people he formed connections with.

Surviving are his beloved wife of over 35 years, Anna Boulware of Moscow Mills; his loving children: Danielle (Eric) Johns of Arnold, Missouri, Alexandra Boulware of Greenwood, Indiana, Tyler Boulware of Maryland Heights, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Brenda Boulware; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Boulware.
