Hibbeler

Troy
Mrs. Dottie F. Hibbeler, 66, of Troy, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at SSM - Lake St. Louis. She was born on April 21, 1955 in St. Louis, the oldest child of Thomas and Patricia (Potts) Filla. Dottie grew up with her six siblings: Dan, Joan, Tom, Kathy, Bob and Patty. Her siblings said "Dottie was their example". While attending an event at St. Sabina Parish in Florissant, she met the love of her life, Jim Hibbeler. At the age of 20, she was joined in holy matrimony on May 31, 1975. The family continued to live in Florissant until moving to Troy, MO. The couple was blessed with four children: Julie, Jim, Susie and Jon. Dottie was always a hard worker and worked throughout her married life except when the children were very young. She served in many capacities for the Catholic Church and worked in many different directions, helping whenever needed. She was a pastoral minister for Sacred Heart Church in Troy up until her health began to fail. Some of her hobbies included stained glass, gardening, watching hummingbirds, and attending religious retreats. Dottie loved spending time with her family and wouldn't miss a card game with them. Dottie enjoyed celebrations and shenanigans with her Filla Family including the late Glen "Uncle Big Guy" Noel. Dottie enjoyed family reunions at the lake and celebrating birthdays with the Hibbelers. Dottie thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Sugar". Dottie was a very special lady who cared about everyone and always wanted the very best for them. She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her devoted husband: Jim Hibbeler; her four children: Julie (Chris) Vreeland, Jim (Karin Eckblad) Hibbeler, Susie Hibbeler, Jon Hibbeler; her mother, Patricia Filla and her two adoring grandchildren: Addison and Sam. She is further survived by her six siblings: Dan Filla, Joan Noel, Thomas (Sue) Filla Jr., Kathy (Terry) Fox, Bob (Chris) Filla and Patty (Stan) Shaffer.
