Edward (Ed)
E. Hammel
Sep 11, 1932 — Mar 18, 2025
Dutzow
Edward "Ed" E. Hammel, 92, of Dutzow, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO. He was born on Sept. 11, 1932 in St. Louis to Arthur and Willma (Schiffmann) Hammel. The family lived in Ferguson and Ed attended school there along with his siblings. On Aug. 2, 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorably until July 29, 1955. After returning home from service, he began working as an electrician for Emerson Electric in St. Louis. Ed later worked for Boeing Aircraft, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
In 1990, he relocated to Dutzow and was the owner/operator of Dutzow Station Antiques. In his spare time, he made it a point to go to as many auctions, flea markets and resale shops as possible, looking for hidden treasures. His family said he had a great sense of humor and liked to tinker with antique clocks, go trout fishing at Bennett Springs State Park and liked flowers of all kinds. As you can tell, he was an amazing man who loved his family very much.
Surviving are his loving daughters: Debbie and husband Allen Reece of Moscow Mills, Patti Button of O'Fallon, MO, Elizabeth Hammel of Montgomery City; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and his sister, Grace Kunz of Florida; many other relatives and friends.
Private services to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to donor's choice, c/o McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63369 (1636) 528-8244.
