Elfriede Lugar,84, of Troy, MO, passed away on March 31, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 25, 1938 in Ludwigshafen, Germany to George and Maria Unrath. She attended the local schools, along with her  sisters.  Elfriede met James Schulte while he was stationed in Germany, they were married on February 16, 1962. To this union were born three children; Dennis, Donna and Angela. Elfriede was an excellent homemaker and she loved her family very much. She enjoyed bird watching (especially hummingbirds) and time spent outside. In her earlier years she enjoyed planting trees and flowers. She had many pets and loved them all like family, especially her two dogs. Spending time with her family was very important to her, they bowled together, shopping at yard sales or just taking walks on the land she loved. Elfriede was a caring, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters; Donna and husband Ed Wieman of Troy, MO and Angela and husband Wayne LaRue of Troy, MO, grandchildren; Ashley Schulte, Shaun and wife Rebecca Wieman, Eric and wife Lindsay Wieman, Nick and wife Miranda LaRue, Jeremy (fiancée Stephanie Sparks) LaRue and Tiffany LaRue, many great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Elfriede was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Schulte.

A graveside service to be held at Reid Cemetery, Troy, Missouri, Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11a.m. Rev. John Thrower to officiate.
