Elizabeth Joyce "Betty" Smith, 62, of Troy, MO, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on February 4, 1959 in St. Louis to Frank and Avis (Schreiener) Fleischmann in St. Louis.  Betty was the second youngest of her 11 siblings.  She grew  up in an environment where thinking of others always came first.  Betty was blessed with her daughter, Christina, who was her pride and joy.  She had worked at WalMart as a greeter for over seven years and also worked at the First Baptist Church in the "before and after" day care.  She also served as a substitute teacher as long as her health permitted.  She was married to Richard Smith on Nov. 9, 2013, and they enjoyed many years of happiness together.  Betty was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Troy and helped as needed.  She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Richard Smith of Troy; her loving daughter, Christina VanBreemen of Kansas City; her siblings: Dan  (Tracy) Fleischmann of Mercedes, TX, Donald Fleischmann of Jefferson City, Charlotte (Russ) Huslage of Troy, Mary Christian of Virginia and JoAnna Yates of Lemay; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings: James Fleischmann, Mary Fauthsith, Lucille Jacqubeck, Frank Fleischman, Edward Paul Fleischmann and infant Richard Fleischmann.

Visitation –  scheduled from 10a.m. -12 noon on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy

Funeral service scheduled at 12 noon on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location.  Officiating Rev. Mike Larson and Pastor Mike Marx.

Interment at Troy City Cemetery.
