Elwyn P. Lloyd, 71, of Troy, Missouri and formerly of Wales, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 4, 1951 in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales to Leslie and Mabel (Davies) Lloyd. Elwyn grew up in the Welsh Valleys with his two brothers, Wynford and Gareth. After his formal schooling, he moved to London and began working for British Airways in 1968 as an aircraft engineer, retiring after 30 years of service.

During this time, he met his soulmate, Debbie Norman, in Anchorage, Alaska. After 15 years together working and living in Turkey, Africa and India the couple were married on November 4, 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska where they first met. Elwyn & Debbie moved to Missouri in 2010, but he remained a proud and devoted Welshman and continued to travel throughout the years to his home country of Wales where he also had a home in his childhood village of Pentrebach. Writing, fishing and camping were some of his hobbies. He was also an avid football fan (soccer to Americans) as well as a great storyteller. Elwyn will be greatly missed and long remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Debbie Lloyd, his loving daughter Sian Lloyd of London, England and son, Owen Lloyd also of London; his brother, Gareth and wife Lynette of Wales; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends around the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wynford Lloyd.

Elwyn had many interests and military history was one of them. Always appreciative of the many men and women who served, memorials may be made to the Veterans Association or Charity of your choice.
