Ethel C. Christine, 107 years of age, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Troy, MO.  She was born on August 18, 1915  in St. James, MO to Charles and Rebecca (Wilkinson) Wheat.  Ethel grew up with her three siblings: Jessie, Hadley and Ida.  The family moved to St. Louis and this is where she met her soulmate, Harold "Pete" Christine, on a blind date.  In 1932, the couple was united in marriage in Troy, MO.  To this union were born five children: Charles, David,Harold, Earl and Karen.  The children grew up in St. Louis County and Warren County.  Ethel and family loved water sports such as boating, skiing and fishing.  They visited the Missouri, Meremac, Mississippi and Cuivre Rivers during the summer months.  Ethel was a special person; she took exceptional care of her husband and children and had many hobbies.  They included crocheting, quilting for her family, playing cards, dominos, and she loved to read.  Her family mentioned that she read every book at Powell Memorial Library.  Doing number puzzels was also a great pastime of hers.  She will be long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her loving children: Harold and wife Virginia Christine of Lake St. Louis, Earl Christine of Missouri, Karen and husband Ron Burr of Truxton; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchilden; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete Christine of 69 years, and her two sons: Charles and David Christine; and her siblings: Jesse Wheat, Hadley Wheat and Ida Stark.
