Eugene E. Sparks, 71, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at SSM - Lake St. Louis.  He was born on August 4, 1951 in St. Louis to George and Laura Mae (Shelton) Sparks.  Eugene was raised in St. Louis and then the family moved to Eolia and this is where he graduated from Clopton High School.  Following his formal education, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served honorably for four years.  Eugene worked and retired for federal prisons and lastly for state prisons.  After his retirement, he also worked as an armed security guard.  During his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and basketball on the T.V. and liked to BBQ ribs for family and friends.  Eugene was a kind and honorable man who was basically a homebody and especially loved his  wife, Laura, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an animal lover and had a special bulldog named Harley that was his constant companion.  Eugene will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who loved him.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Laura Sparks of Troy; his children: Kelly Vogler and her fiance, David Looney of IL, Joe Parker and wife Becky of GA, Jamaal Sparks of PA, Natisha Sparks and husband Aaron of OH; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his sister, Izetta Sparks; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Laura Mae Sparks; his siblings: Larry Sparks, Terry Sparks, Clara Shelton and his grandson, Michael Parker.
