Obituary

Francis Matthew Aubuchon, 93, of Troy, MO, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021.  He was born on September 25,1928 in St. Louis to Matthew E. and Clara C. (Buerk) Aubuchon.  He was the youngest of six children. After completing two years of high school at Beaumont, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  Francis completed basic training, but was medically discharged. He then went to work at the government Record Center.  Later he enlisted in the U.S. military and served in the United States Air Force from January 30, 1951 until January 29, 1955.  After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he returned home and married, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Martinek.  They were joined in holy matrimony on April 16,1955 at St. Mary's Church in Hawk Point.  They lived in St. Louis where they started their family of six children. Francis earned his G.E.D. and worked for Defense Mapping  and Aerospace Center.  During the week, the family lived in North County and on the weekends, the family enjoyed country living on their property in Troy.  He was very industrious and built his own house, which would become their retirement home.  Some of his hobbies included bowling, shooting, golfing, hunting and fishing.  Francis was a great humanitarian, and being a generous  blood donor was very important to him.  In 1983, he officially retired from his job of 35 years of dedicated government service.  He was a member of the Lions Club and Knights of Columbus,VFW, as well as, an active member of St. Mary's Parish. After retirement, he devoted his time to raising cattle. His cows became like his pets, he would call them by name and they would answer.  Francis was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew him.

Surviving are his loving children:  Matthew F. Aubuchon and Michele, Mark E. Aubuchon and Joan, Joan M. Marbach and Joseph, James L. Aubuchon and Mary Jane, David M. Aubuchon and Kay, and Dianne L.
