Obituary

Gerald "Gerry" L. Green, 79, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on April 26, 2026 at Maple Grove Nursing Home. He was born on May 18, 1946 in Louisiana, MO to Daren and Katherine (Turnbough) Green. Gerry attended the local schools with his sister, Karen. After attending college, he joined the Army National Guard Reserves, where he served in the Military Police. Gerry had four children; Laura, Jarrod, William and Valerie. He enjoyed the special times spent with his family and friends, especially the times spent with his sister, Karen, who helped take care of her "little bro".

Gerry was a talented woodworker and could make anything he set his mind to. Fishing, boating, going on cruises and working in the yard, were things he loved to do. Most of all, he was kept company by his faithful cat companions; Boo Boo, Patches and Little Bit. Gerry worked on the Louisiana Police Force in the early 1970's. He then entered the construction field until he retired as a Construction Superintendent. He was employed for many years  with Brandt Construction in Indiana. Once he retired, Gerry moved back to Missouri to be closer to family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his four children; Laura and husband Mark Shellhorse, Jarrod and Tammi Green, William Green and Valerie Green and husband Sergey Grechukhin, four grandchildren; Ashley Heigl and Robbie, Brian Shellhorse, Molly Green, Katie McConnell and Buster, six great-grandchildren; Lane Shellhorse, Camden Heigl, Carter Heigl, Ellie Heigl, Anna and Tommy  McConnell, sister, Karen (Green) Cashman, nephew, Jeff Cashman, other relatives and friends.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Troy and his wife, Sheryl Green.
