Helen Clara (Sievert) Zuroweste peacefully passed away on March 14, 2023.  She was 102 years old.

Helen was born on September 28, 1920 to Fred and Clara (Schmidt) Sievert at the family farm in Moscow Mills, Missouri.  She attended Hubbard Elementary School and graduated from Buchanan High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Bernard A. Zuroweste on April 25, 1942.  To this union five sons were born.

Helen was a wonderful mother, a talented quilter, a skilled seamstress and a good cook. The family was blessed to have her with us for more than 102 years.  She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in St. Charles and was an active member of their quilting group.  She lived independently until the age of 98. She was most recently a resident of Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bernard A. Zuroweste;  her parents, Fred and Clara (Schmidt) Sievert; her brother Howard F. Sievert (Betty) and her sister; Mildred (Sievert) Bueneman, (Marvin), a niece Diane Bolle; and two nephews, Roger Bolle and David Bolle.

She is survived by her five sons: Robert and Sylvia Zuroweste, James and Harriet Zuroweste, Ronald and Wanda Zuroweste, Richard Zuroweste and Daniel Zuroweste.  She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., April 29, 2023.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379.   A service of remembrance will follow at 11 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home in Troy, Missouri. Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore and Rev. Seth Rash to officiate.

A private internment will follow at Anderson Hill Cemetery in Moscow Mills, Missouri.
