Obituary

Irvan Schupmann, 101, of Troy, MO went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy.  He was born on May 8, 1921 in St. Louis to Gustav and Caroline (Diekmann) Schupmann.  After attending the local schools along with his siblings: Richard, Walter Hellman, Al and Leona, Irvan volunteered as a fireman in St. Louis.  Irvan married the love of his life, Alice (Moore) Schupmann on January 31, 1942 in St. Louis.  To this union were born four children: James "Jim", Ronald "Larry", Barbara and an infant son.  Not long after marrying and having children, Irvan and his wife relocated to Troy, Missouri where they built a house on a large piece of property which they farmed and later added a lake with a lakehouse!  Their yearly fish frys and large Christmas Eve parties were something family and friends alike looked forward to with great excitement.  Irvan also established Schupmann Heating and Cooling which he ran until his son, Ronald "Larry" Schupmann, Sr. bought the business from him in the early 80's.  When he wasn't working on the farm or fishing on Schupmann Lake, Irvan and Alice were busy competing in ballroom dances.  They won competitions all over and taught many others the love of ballroom dancing.  While his children and family were truly the greatest accomplishments of his life, Irvan was always proud of having been a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, Missouri.

Surviving are his loving family: son, Larry Schupmann of Troy; one daughter, Barbara Schupmann of Troy; and one daughter-in-law, JoEllen (Whitrock) Schupmann of St. Peters; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and countless other relatives and friends.

Irvan was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son; his siblings: Richard, Walter Hellman, Al and Leona; a son, James "Jim" Schupmann; one grandson, David Lindner and one great-grandson, Nikola Lerch; and his beautiful bride of 72 blessed years, Alice (Moore) Schupmann.
