Obituary

James Edward Freymuth, 80, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Chesterfield, Missouri. Jim was born on August 23, 1945, in St. Charles, Missouri, to Bernard and Dorthea Freymuth. He spent most of his life in Troy, Missouri, and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1964. Following graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Army before beginning a career with Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, where he worked as a lineman for 30 years before retiring. During his years with Cuivre River, Jim earned the affectionate nickname "Moose," a name many friends and coworkers knew him by.

Over the years, Jim enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, and bowling. It was through bowling that he met the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Freymuth. They were married in 1983 and blended their families, building a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. Jim was the father of Heather and, through his marriage to Pat, became bonus father to Terrie, Kim, and Michelle. One of his greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren, Xantiana, Nick, Josh, Gabriella, Drew, Caden, and Noah, and was a proud great-grandfather to Dimitri, Tara, Matthew, and Daisy May.

He especially treasured the visits and time spent with his great-grandchildren in recent years. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Jim enjoyed helping with fish fries and spending time with friends and family. In his later years, he found comfort in life's quieter moments and became well known for enjoying the Hallmark Movie Channel, especially during the Christmas season.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Freymuth; his grandson, Elijah Clouse; his parents, Bernard and Dorthea Freymuth; and his brothers, Ben and Gary Freymuth.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Gerald) Nuckols; bonus daughters, Terrie (Steve) Marx, Kim (Shawn) Clouse, and Michelle Aguirre; his grandchildren, Xantiana (Kyle) King, Nick (Jaime) Purler, Josh Ballard, Gabriella Aguirre, Andrew Aguirre, Caden Nuckols, and Noah Clouse; his great-grandchildren, Dimitri, Tara, Matthew, and Daisy May King; his brother, Dennis Freymuth; and many extended family members and friends who will remember him with affection and gratitude. Though he will be deeply missed, Jim's family finds comfort in the memories they shared and in the knowledge that his legacy lives on through the generations who loved him.
