Jay Gordon Currie,65, of Foley, MO, passed away on March 30, 2022 at his home in Foley, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 9, 1957 in St. Louis, Mo to Gordon John and Dorothy Marie (McCann) Currie. Jay attended the local schools with his sibling and graduated from Winfield High School. He met the love of his life, Kathi (Myers) when they were both freshman in high school. At age 16 they started dating. When they were 18, they were united in marriage on February 1, 1976 at Asbury United Methodist Church. To this union were born: Jayson, Jacob, Joshua and Kacie. Jay was employed as an operating engineer at Fred Weber for 40 years. He retired when he was 60, so he and Kathi could travel all over in an RV. Jay never had an idle moment , he built his own earth contact home and was always working on a project. He was skilled at welding and woodworking. Jay enjoyed so many things; smoking squirrels out of trees, hunting, archery, riding, volleyball and hiking He could be found going around their property on 4-wheelers, tractors, side by sides or on the homemade zipline. Jay loved spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and his four-legged best friend, Buddy. He will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

Jay is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathi Currie of Foley, MO, Jayson and wife Tiffany Currie of Troy, MO, Jacob and wife Gabrielle Currie of Foley, MO, Joshua and wife Amy Currie of Trenton, MO, Kacie and husband Jeremy McAllister of Troy, MO, grandchildren, Cody Currie, Sofia Currie, Kyle Currie, William Currie, Samantha McAllister, Annie Currie, Eli Currie, Lucas McAllister and Jax Currie, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Marie Currie and Joyce Marie Currie and his parents, Gordon and Dorothy Currie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379.

Funeral will also be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.at the funeral home in Troy. Rev. Paul Catterton to officiate. Interment to follow in the Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Foley, MO.
