Hawk Point

Obituary

Jean K. Pagel, 73, of Hawk Point, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at her residence.  She was born on July 8, 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Clyde and Lura (Christiansen) McGuffin.  Jean grew up with her two siblings: Darrel and Nancy. After she attended the local schools, she later graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul, MN.  Soon after graduation, she married Howard Pagel.  Her beautiful smile, and amazing sense of humor were present at an early age, and only deepened as she grew older.  Those who knew her, knew how much she loved to dance.  She was lovingly known as "Mean Jean, The Dancing Machine".  Jean's presence in a room meant laughter, happiness, and just pure joy. She was never one to pass judgement on others. No matter your circumstances, where you had been, or where you were headed, Jean accepted you as you were.  She was always a really hard worker and was a jack-of-all-trades.  Her latest employment was at the Waffle House in both O'Fallon and Warrenton. It was a great fit for Jean because she loved people and enjoyed visiting. The world was a better place with Jean's warm smile and kind eyes. Her family were always her first priority and she will be remembered lovingly.

Surviving are her beloved three daughters: April Davis, Sommer Pagel and Heather Gibson, Deb Haas and Rob Brooks; her brother-in-law, David Chilberg; her niece, Lisa Rasmussen; her adoring grandchildren: Crystal and Maddie and her loving great-grandson: Kolt; other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her two siblings: Darrel McGuffin, Nancy Chilberg and her son-in-law, Royce Davis.

Private services to be held at a later date.
