Troy, Mo
In Loving Memory of Joe Roy Patton
Joe Roy Patton, age 84, passed away peacefully October 15, 2026 at home in Troy, Missouri, surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was born on February 7, 1942, in Bragg City, Missouri, to Amos and Tiny Maybell. He graduated from Bragg City High School in 1960. Growing up working on a farm instilled in Joe a strong work ethic that carried him throughout his 64-year career, eventually retiring from Prairie Farms. Joe married the love of his life, Martha Patton, and together they shared 65 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, laughter, and lasting traditions. He was the proud father of five children: Tanya Hoppe, who preceded him in death; Joseph Patton (Geri); John Patton; Jeffrey Patton; and Jamie Patton (Anne). His family grew to include 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several bonus step-grandchildren, one brother, Roger Patton and many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Joe was preceded in death by his sisters Christine, Earlene, Geraldine, and Jennifer.
Joe was truly one of a kind, with a quick wit and a knack for making people laugh when they least expected it. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. Old-school in his ways, he was wise, strong-willed, and a man of high standards who usually believed he was right. His clumsiness only added to the stories and memories his family will share for years to come.Joe was a Christian man whose life reflected his values and devotion to those closest to him. Joe enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating, especially tubing his grandchildren. He loved building things and working with his hands, finding satisfaction in creating and fixing things. His most treasured memories were made outdoors and carrying on traditions that meant so much to him. Whether sharing a laugh, offering his wisdom, or simply being present, Joe created memories that will be cherished for generations.
Joe will be cremated, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tunnel to Towers or to a charity of your choice in Joe’s memory.Joe's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain with his family forever. Though he may be gone from our sight, his laughter, lessons, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
