John L. Hance, 79, of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 22, 2026.  He was born on January 19, 1947 in St. Louis to Raymond and Martha (McClellan) Hance.  John grew up at Lake of the Ozarks along with his four siblings: Bruce, Linda, Sandy and Diane. He met his sweetheart, Linda Lynch while living in St. Louis and working as a truck driver. The couple was married on April 19, 1976 and they raised two children: Tammy and Mike who were his pride and joy.

He later worked as a tree trimmer so he would be home at night with his family.  Some of his hobbies included fishing and hunting.  Vacationing with his family at Lake of the Ozarks was one of his priorities.  John was a good provider for his family and cherished each and every one of his family members.

Surviving are his beloved and devoted wife of over 50 + years,  Linda Hance of Moscow Mills; his children: Tammy Pontius of St. Louis, Mike and wife Jen Hance of Maine; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his four siblings: Bruce and wife Nancy Hance, Linda and husband Jerry Kuhlman, Sandy Zumwalt , Dianne and husband Kevin Stouffer; other relatives and friends.

Graveside service scheduled at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5200 Lucas Hunt at Hwy 70, St. Louis, MO 63121.
