Juanita Marie Hayes, 98 of Troy, MO, passed away on September 17, 2026 at Sugar Creek Memory Care in Troy, MO. She was born on April 30, 1928 in New Wells, MO to Frederick and Olga (Hoffman) Schultz. Juanita was one of six children and attended the local schools with her siblings.

She was united in marriage on October 4, 1947 to Daryl D Jayne, and to this union were born three children: Dennis, Karen and Kevin. Juanita was later united in marriage to Robert Hayes on October 7, 1983.

Juanita was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and creating a loving home. She was employed at Monsanto for 22 years and retired in June 30, 1983. Juanita loved to do search and find books, enjoyed a good cup of coffee, watch the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and of course, play BINGO!

In her later years, Juanita became a resident of Sugar Creek Memory Care. She immediately made many friends among the other residents and the staff members. She participated and enjoyed the activities and events.

Juanita is survived by her children: Dennis (Donna) Jayne of St. Charles, MO, Karen (Steven, deceased) Emas of Wentzville, MO, and Kevin (Barbara Wright) Jayne of Troy, MO; grandchildren: Kristi (Tony) Lam, Matthew (Jessie) Jayne, Peter Portell, Zachery (Jen) Portell and Andy (Stacy) Jayne; great-grandchildren: Allyson Lam, Nicholas Lam, Jackson Portell, Adia Portell, Clara Jayne, Grayson Jayne, Audrey Jayne and Lydia Jayne; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husbands, and her grandson, David Jayne.

Juanita will be laid to rest beside her husband at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
