Kathleen G.
Eversmeyer
May 3, 1929 — Sep 7, 2022
Troy
Kathleen Eversmeyer, 93, of Troy, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Lincoln County
Nursing and Rehab. She was born on May 3, 1929, in Troy, MO, the daughter of John Henry and Henrietta
(Sievert) Graf. As a little girl she grew up with her brother, Florence, on their family's farm. One of her fondest memories was playing a game called Andy Over with her best friend, Irene. Kathleen would sell some of the eggs that their chickens laid so that she could have a little spending money. She later met Florence W. Eversmeyer and they were married on July 16, 1960 in Elsberry, MO. They spent more than 40 wonderful years together, both at home and traveling until his death in 2001.
They were always faithful and generous to their church, Troy Bible Holiness Church and supportive of Troy Holiness School. Kathleen worked for 54 years years at Schloemann Dry Cleaner's in Troy. She was an accomplished seamstress, making alterations, and would even do some embroidering. Kathleen could press anything, and nothing was too big for her to handle,
including huge wedding dresses with very large trains. She enjoyed greeting the customers and they all
appreciated her many talents. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed picking blackberries and making jelly, jams, and
pies from them. She also enjoyed gardening and 2 of her favorites to plant were sweet potatoes and Irish potatoes.
Kathleen was a wonderful cook and made many delicious homemade dishes. She cherished the memories of
singing with her husband Florence, while she would play the piano and loved the beautiful poems he wrote for her. She played the piano for many years and even tried her hand at the guitar and the accordion but always preferred the piano. Through the years, Kathleen played the piano at church, church tent revivals and several local nursing homes. She continued to play the piano while a resident at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab, to the delight of many.
Kathleen is survived by her brother, Florence (Wilda) Graf, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Florence Eversmeyer.
