Kay L. Elwood, 61, of Middletown, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on April 3, 1963 in Louisiana, MO to Russell and Gwendoline (Wilhoit) Gilbert.  Kay grew up with her four siblings: Kim, Kerry, Karen and Kevin in New Hartford on her grandparents' farm.  Horses were so important to her; she loved riding them, working with them and showing them.  She graduated from Bowling Green High School and later moved to Oklahoma.   Kay worked with Arabian horses on a horse farm and so enjoyed that type of work. The family later moved to Indiana and this is where their son, Mack,  was born.  He  was her pride and joy.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Surviving are her loving family:  her son, Mack (Cassidy) Elwood and their two adoring grandchildren: Charlotte known as "Charlie" and Mack VI; her siblings:  Kim Bowman, Karen (Dan) Graver, Kevin (Sonya) Gilbert and sister-in-law: Theresa Gilbert; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kerry Gilbert
