Laverne M. Breite, 96, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at her residence.  She was born on January 13, 1929 in St. Louis to Philip and Anna (Carpenter) Weidner.  She grew up in St. Louis along with her two brothers, Phillip and Jack.  After completing high school, she married the love of her life, Max Breite,  on June 15, 1946.   The couple lived in St. Louis where they were blessed with their three children: Jim, Dale and Pamela.  They later moved to St.Charles County and then to Lincoln County in 1972.

Laverne loved quilting, crocheting, reading, and playing cards with her friends.  She was also a tremendous cook. Her family was her No. 1 priority and she took excellent care of them and cherished each and everyone.  Her greatest love, however, was Jesus.

Surviving are her loving children: Jim (Lavonne) Breite of Sedalia, Colorado, Dale (Cathy Breite) of Troy, Pamela (Gordon) Huff of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Chris (Gail) Breite, Elaine Breite, Matt (Heather) Breite, Erica (Justin) Bergfalk, Aaron (Lauren) Breite, Christian Huff, Elias Huff; nine great-grandchildren: Max Breite, Graham Breite, Alaina Breite, Evelyn Breite, Blake Bergfalk, Jane Bergfalk, James Breite, Nadia Breite, and Caleb Breite.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her parents Philip and Anna, and both brothers, Phillip and Jack.

A funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January   21, 2025   at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location.  Rev. Wes Denham and Rev. Skip Merkel to officiate  Serving as  pallbearers:  Chris Breite, Aaron Breite, Matt Breite, Justin Bergfalk, Elias Huff, Max Breite and Graham Breite.

Interment to follow in Troy City Cemetery.
