Lois Marie
Coleman
Oct 26, 1942 — Apr 30, 2026
Moscow Mills
Lois Marie Coleman, 83, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. She was born on Oct. 26, 1942 in Cimarron, Kansas to Lawrence and Edna (Penka) Krueger. Lois grew up on a farm and learned how to run a combine at age 12, when her father had a heart attack and her help was needed. After her formal schooling, she was working as a waitress at a restaurant when she met her future husband, John L. Coleman. Their first date was April 4, 1960 and eight months later on Dec. 31, 1960, they were married on New Year's Eve in Montezuma, Kansas.
It didn't take long for the family to move to Moscow Mills and this is where they raised their five children. The family enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and all of the kids' sports and activities. Lois was very involved in the community and served as a Girl Scout leader who taught outdoor skills, and arts and crafts. Making hot chocolate for the Moscow Mills sledders, rabbit and deer hunting, and canning pickles were some of the things she enjoyed with family and friends. Besides taking excellent care of her family, she owned Coleman's Tax and Bookkeeping Service. Lois was "always a strong lady" and had a strong belief in God, passing this faith onto her children. She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her four loving children: her son, John (Sheila) Coleman of Truxton and her three daughters: Michelle (Kevin) Murray of Foristell, Lorrie (Donald) Harrison of Clarksville, Keista Coleman of Florida; her 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Coleman; her daughter, Tina Stark and her four siblings: Clarence, Gertrude, Lorraine and Robert Lee.
