Lonis Haralson, 93, of Washington, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Grandview Health Care in Washington, MO. He was born on August 25, 1932 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Willie and Dollie (Voss) Haralson. Lonis grew up with his seven siblings and knew what sharing and thinking of others meant. He graduated from Lilbourn High School in 1949.
He met his future wife, Alyce Rion, and three years later they were joined in holy matrimony, on September 4, 1954, in St. Louis. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. Three years later, they were blessed with their daughter, Pamela, who was their pride and joy. The family traveled wherever needed with LandAir where Lonis worked as an airplane mechanic.
They later settled in Mobile, Alabama before relocating to St. Louis for Lonis' job at McDonnell-Douglas Corp. Lonis was a dedicated employee and retired after many years of service. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf. Lonis met many fellow veterans at Veterans Coffee Talk and appreciated his friendships. His family was of the utmost importance to him and he enjoyed getting together often. Lonis will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who loved him.
