Lonnie "Bub" R. Daniels, 77, of Troy, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Troy.  He was born on May 20, 1944 in Puxico to James and Etta (Massey) Daniels.  Bub grew up with his 12 siblings and knew what  sharing and thinking of others meant.  From a very early age, he helped his dad cut logs and also farm.  Many of his family members moved to Moscow Mills and so he also followed.  He began working for Tubular Steel in St. Louis, then Binkley in Warrenton and Wright City Meats.  At the age of 23, he married his soulmate Gladys Tienter.   At that time,  he was employed by Mid Rivers Asphalt and the couple also operated Moscow Grocery.  Bub worked till age 70 and never slowed down.  They raised their son, Michael "Mike", who brought much joy to their life.  His wife, Gladys, passed away on February 4, 2013.  He later met Brenda Moran and she passed away on Nov. 27, 2020.

Animals were very special to Bub.  He had two miniature poodles named Buttons and Itsy which were mother and daughter.  He took them on most errands, riding in his truck and bringing him much happiness.  Buttons has since passed away.  Bub also loved his chickens, beagles and peacocks.  Hunting  rabbits and coons along with fishing were some of his hobbies.  He enjoyed watching people and had a good sense of humor.   He especially liked reading the Bible.  If you were hurt, he always would have been hurt worse.  Bub was known as the "Governor" among his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his devoted son, Michael "Mike" Daniels and Annette Smith of Troy; his sister, Hazel (and husband Dee) Christenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; his special friends: Hubert and Nellie Cato; his stepson-in-law, Bill Wilson; his step-grandchildren: Liza, Roman and step-great-grandchildren: Anna and Kay.  He is further survived by his brother-in-laws: John  Robertson, Noah McLeary, Mel Alberternest and sister-in-laws: Margie Daniels and Viola Daniels; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Bub was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Daniels; his companion, Brenda Moran; his step-daughter, Lori Wilson and his 11 siblings:  Virgil (Rip) Daniels, Robert (Bob) Daniels, Clelan Daniels, Leslie Owens Daniels, Laura Mae Browning, Donald Daniels, Betty McLeary, Bonnie Lewis, Ilene Robertson, Vera Alberternest and Judy Gayle Daniels.

Graveside service 10a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Troy City Cemetery, Troy.  Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate.
