Lou Ella
Henry
Feb 22, 1933 — Jun 23, 2026
Troy
Lou Ella Henry, 93, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, grace, and steadfast faith. Born on February 22, 1933, in Louisiana, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of Benjamin Blackwell and Audrey Colbert.
Lou Ella was a woman whose life reflected beauty both inside and out. She graduated from Louisiana High School and was united in marriage to Marvin Henry on June 20, 1954, in Louisiana, Missouri. Their marriage was a blessing marked by love, devotion, and a shared faith that guided them through the years.
For more than ten years, Lou Ella worked as a bookkeeper for the State of Missouri at Camp Avery in Troy. She carried herself with quiet dignity and was admired for her sweet spirit, generous heart, and ever-present smile. She loved shopping, took pride in always being beautifully dressed, and found great joy in traveling. Among the places she enjoyed visiting were the Bahamas, Spain, Canada, and Branson, Missouri, where she especially loved attending the shows.
Lou Ella and Marvin were longtime faithful members of Troy First Baptist Church, where their Christian faith was an important foundation in their lives. Lou Ella was a gentle and caring presence to all who knew her, and she leaves behind the memory of a life well lived, a heart freely given, and a faith that remained constant.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Marvin Henry of Troy, MO, her sister, Norma House of Louisiana, Missouri and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will cherish her memory , especially Ann Watts who has become like an adopted daughter to Lou Ella and Marvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Blackwell and Audrey Colbert; and her two brothers and one sister, John M. Blackwell, Merle Page, and Carl Blackwell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Troy First Baptist Church in Troy, Missouri. A Memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Obadiah Dalrymple will officiate.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends find comfort in the treasured memories she leaves behind and in the assurance of God's enduring love. Her sweet smile, generous nature, and faithful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
