Obituary

Mrs. Lucy "Joyce" Scott, 78, of Troy, MO, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022. She was born on February 18, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, the child of Othmar and Lucy (Gray) Schneider. After attending the local schools, Lucy married the love of her life, Eldon Scott. The happy couple were married in 1963 in St. Louis, MO. They were blessed with two children:  Donald and Rachel. Joyce worked several different jobs, but her favorite was working as a nurse's aid. She specifically worked with Alzheimer's patients, and she enjoyed her job. In addition to working, she was a dedicated and loving wife and mother.  Joyce was very devout in her faith and would go to mass daily. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawk Point. Joyce absolutely loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild. After retirement Joyce and her husband had two service dogs that they would take to the nursing home every Thursday. She also quilted at L.C.C.O.A, and at St. Mary's church.  In later years, due to her health, she would watch mass and the rosary at home on television. Joyce will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eldon Scott of Troy; one daughter, Rachel Hubert and her husband, Tim of Hawk Point; MO, and one son, Donald Scott and his wife Svetlana of Fort Worth, Texas;  grandchildren: Timothy Hubert, and Donald and Michael Scott; and great-grandson, Lincoln Hubert, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

A Memorial Mass by the family is scheduled at 10a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Mary's Church in Hk. Pt.  Fr. John Keenoy to officiate.
