This portion of the obituary was written by Marie "Cookie" Barnes. She said maybe she will get a few smiles and grins, not so many tears. " I never heard how much I weighed but, the midwife said "Oh, she is a fat little cookie, so yep I got the nickname, Cookie" Which never bothered me ever cause I never did like the name, Frances. I went to Clay School,  just one block from where we lived on Salisbury Street then graduated and went to Hadley Tech for maybe 2 months."Her Dad and two of his brothers, came to St. Louis to look for work and found a home in Davis , MO.". She then met and later married , Kenneth Wayne Zumwalt and they were blessed with five children; Rose Marie, Kevin Wayne, Pamela Renee, Donna Elaine and Jennifer Lynn.

Cookie was a dedicated member of Troy Bible Holiness Church, enjoyed cross stitching, wrote to pen pals all over the world and loved spending time with her family and friends. Many of her non-related friends and their children, also called her "Grandma". She was a hard worker and was employed at Harcourt- Row  for a couple of years and was a devoted summer camp worker at the Cuivre State Park. The last four years, her daughter Rose was her devoted caretaker,  along with the rest of her family.

She is survived by her children, Rose Brewer of Troy, MO, Kevin and wife Kim Zumwalt of Troy, MO, Pam and husband John Finnerty of Troy, MO, Donna and husband Dave Goad of Troy, MO and Jennifer and husband Kirk Stamper of Bella Vista, Arkansas , 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren,  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
