Marvin E.
Schubert
May 12, 1937 — Jul 8, 2022
Wright City
Marvin Eugene Schubert, 85, of Wright City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence on his family farm. He was born on May 12, 1937 in Troy to John and Mary Jane (Knox) Schubert. His father passed away when he was a small child and his mother later married Ernie Weitkamp. After Marvin graduated from Wright City High School in 1955, he continued farming with his stepfather and also began his career as a carpenter. In 1960 he was drafted into the army and happily served his country for two years. In 1970, Marvin was introduced to Rosalee Marie Linkogel. She quickly became the love of his life and they were married April 17, 1971. Together they had 3 children Shelly Schubert of Lenexa Kansas, Michael (Liz) Schubert of Wright City, and Amy (Jeff) McDonnell of Wentzville. Their blessings continued with 8 beautiful grandchildren Samantha, Danielle, Mitchell, Claire, Kate Schubert, Ally, Daisy, and Charlie McDonnell. Marvin was a member of the Local 1875 Carpenter's Union. After he retired he filled his time farming, helping family and friends, and volunteering in the community. Marvin was best known for dressing up like an elf for the Christmas parade, giving horse and buggy rides at weddings and events, and his labors at Deutsch Country Days, just to name a few. Marvin was truly a remarkable man. He was an honest and hardworking man who always thought of others before himself. He was passionate about carpentry, farming, cattle, tractors, but most deeply, he cared about his family. His favorite tradition was taking his whole family to Mount Pleasant, Iowa for the Old Thresher's Reunion each year. Grass did not grow under Marvin's feet, in fact, he was busy working on a task when God called him home.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Jane (Knox) Schubert, his stepfather Erine Weitkamp, and his Uncle Howard and Aunt Martha.
