Myrtle F. Parton, 90, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, surrounded by family at the home of her daughter, Barbara Ann, in Troy.  She was born on November 11, 1934 in Anna, Texas to William and Ina (Elliott) Clark.  At the young age of 16, she married the love of her life, James Parton, on October 2, 1949 in Eloy, Arizona.  Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with five children.

Myrtle worked for many years at the Jones/Vining Company in Troy, retiring 1996. She was also a talented quilt maker and lovingly created quilts for her family, including a cherished Christmas when she presented each member with a handmade quilt she had worked on for two years.  She will be remembered as loving, nuturing, funny, and deeply dedicated to her family.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Mickey) Hollis of Troy, MO; David (Melanie) Parton of Casa Grande, AZ; Deborah Wendt of Troy, MO; and Tammy Parton of Murrieta, CA; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Roy and Gary Clark.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Parton; her son, Jimmy "Dolly" Parton; and her siblings J.R., Mary, Earl, and Betty.

Visitation scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244.  Funeral service at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home in Troy.
