Rita Charlene Russell, 68, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Progress West Hospital in O'Fallon. Born on August 10, 1957, in Marble Hill, Missouri, to Charles and Edna
(Mansker) Russell, Rita grew up in a close-knit family who loved spending time together, especially singing on holidays. Her joyful spirit and love of laughter filled every room she entered. Rita found beauty in the simple things — a freshly cleaned home, an organized space, or a new project to dive into. She had a heart for helping others, an eye for detail, and a deep love for her family, friends, and beloved dogs. Her greatest joy came from time spent with those she loved most.

She is survived by her daughter, Edna (Ryan) Roberts of Troy, Missouri; her son, Devin Stonebraker of St. Peters, Missouri; and her granddaughter, Allie (Sam) Stowe of St. Louis, Missouri. She also leaves behind two sisters, Brenda Paulette (Loyd) Jordan and Linda Faye Swift, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Rita was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Charles and Edna Russell, her sister Glenda Kay McManus, and her brother-in-law Jim Swift.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help offset unexpected funeral expenses be sent to the funeral home, made payable to Edna Roberts.

Rita's memory will live on in the love she gave, the laughter she inspired, and the home she made wherever she was.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, 3 - 6 p.m., at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244 .

A funeral service will also be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, 6 p.m. , at the funeral home in Troy.

Interment will be private.
