Robert "Red" A. Cook, 84, of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, October 1, 2022.  He was born on Sept. 18, 1938 in St. Louis to Jess and Vido (Ross) Cook.  Red grew up with ten siblings and knew what caring and sharing meant.  At the age of 23, he married his sweetheart, Gladys Chaney, on June 30, 1962 in St. Louis.  They were blessed with their daughter, Esther, who was his pride and joy.  During these years, he joined the U.S. Army reserves and served as a cook.  Red was a good provider for his family and had worked as a sheet metal worker at Hussmann Refrigeration and lastly for Orscheln Farm & Home.   Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy was a big part of the couples' life.  He especially enjoyed celebrating group birthdays and other special events with his church family.  Fishing, camping, playing horseshoes and watching the St. Louis Cardinals were some of his many pastimes.  Red cherished each and everyone of his family members.

Surviving are his devoted wife of over 60 years, Gladys Cook; his daughter, Esther Cook; his four adoring grandchildren: Angelina Smith, Paul (Adrianna) Smith, James Jaques, Michael Jaques and his four great-grandchildren: Charlie, Evangeline, Anabelle, Emma, and his church members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his ten siblings.

Visitation scheduled from 10-11a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1307 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379.

Funeral service to follow at 11a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy.  Rev. Garry McCracken to officiate.
