Robert Lee Cunningham, 90, of Troy, MO, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 8, 1931 in Carlinville, IL to LeRoy and Gladys (Ethington) Cunningham in Carlinville, IL.

He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Stacie) Cunningham of Wentzville, MO, and Guy (lori) Cunningham of Maryville, IL. His two daughters Lori (Keith) Mussman of Bradley Il, and Lisa (Dave) Schultz of Rock Falls, Il, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jean (Donald) Ponton of Martinton, IL. and his brother Milton (Harriett) Cunningham also of Martinton.
Robert joined the Navy on Dec 7, 1951, serving as an aircraft avionics technician and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He continued his service to his country as a civilian, where he worked over 30 years for the Army at the Joliet Il. and Rock Island Il. arsenals. He was an avid shooter, earning many awards from a lifetime of trap, skeet, rifle and pistol shooting. He also enjoyed playing the game of golf, collecting coins, and taking pictures.

Robert will have private services at Jefferson Barracks, National Cemetery on Friday, May 6, 2022.  There will be a MEMORIAL VISITATION  scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379 (636) 528-8244.   THE MEMORIAL SERVICE will be at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate at both services.
