Obituary

Robert (Bob) Raymond Morse, 89, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake St. Louis.

Bob was born on August 29, 1935, in Quincy, Massachusetts, to Lester and Hazel (McCloud) Morse. He was raised in Dorchester, MA, and later attended high school in Richmond, VA. In 1955, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from December 2, 1955, to December 1, 1959. After his honorable discharge, Bob pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Geography from colleges in Kirksville and Columbia, MO.

In 1973, Bob met Linda Holdner on a blind date, and just five months later, they were united in marriage on December 8, 1973, at St. Charles Baptist Church. Together, they built a loving home and raised three children.

Bob began his teaching career at Troy Buchanan High School and later retired from the Federal Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis. Never one to slow down, he continued sharing his knowledge as a professor at Missouri Baptist University and St. Charles Community College, working until the age of 85. Bob was a meticulous worker, a dedicated provider, and a man who took great pride in everything he did.

His faith was a cornerstone of his life. Bob was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Troy, where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for over 40 years. He also enjoyed photography and took great joy in compiling church directories throughout the years.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Morse, and their children: Tammy (Eric) Duff of Hawk Point, Tim Morse of Fenton, and Nancy (Chris) Davis of Troy. He was a proud grandfather to Branden (Kayla) Duff, Cierra Duff, Christopher (Abygail) Davis, Connor Davis, Carter Davis, and Charlie Davis, and a cherished great-grandfather to Grayson "GW" Duff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Hazel Morse.

Visitation will be held from 1:00–3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Troy. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tim Swofford. Interment will take place at Troy City Cemetery.
